What is this competition?
The Global AI IDOL Award looks for idols created by people and AI working as partners. The award goes not to the AI but to the person who stands behind the work under their own name and takes responsibility for it (the Idol FAIMer). There is no online voting or popularity award; the jury decides.
Relationship with SVAIFF KOREA 2026
- The two are separate competitions. They are held on the same day at the same venue.
- This competition’s top award, Best AI Idol, is also presented as one of the prize categories of SVAIFF KOREA 2026. Accordingly, the Best AI Idol winning work is entered in the Silicon Valley global final in the same way as SVAIFF KOREA 2026 prize-winning works (Participation Rules Article 7). Winning works entered in the final are subject to the conditions set by the final organizer (use of the work, the 12-month right of first collaboration and technical verification), and the secretariat will notify winners of them in writing again before the final entry.
- A work entered in the SVAIFF KOREA 2026 film categories may also be entered here if it fits the purpose of this competition. If it wins in both, each award is recognized.
What do I submit?
1. Character IP: the idol’s name, world and visual design materials (3 or more images)
2. Performance video: at least 3 and at most 6 minutes, MP4 (H.264), 1080p recommended, with sound
3. Audio track: the audio file of the song used in the performance video (WAV or MP3) and song information (composition, lyrics, arrangement and how the voice was made)
4. Creative statement: what the people and the AI each did, and how you kept the five promises
Five Promises
01 Don’t deceive — never hide that it’s AI
02 Don’t exploit — never take advantage of fans’ loneliness
03 Don’t replace — reveal people instead of erasing them
04 Credit what you borrow — disclose tools, music and sources
05 Design the ending — grow together instead of abandoning
