What counts as an AI work?
- Works made entirely with AI, or that make deep use of AI, are eligible. At least 50% of the visuals (video/images) or of the core story elements (script, music, special effects, etc.) must be created by or with the help of AI.
- Mixing with live-action footage is fine. Just briefly note which tools you used and where.
- Works that use only assistive functions such as noise reduction, upscaling, automatic color correction or automatic subtitles do not qualify.

Entering takes three steps
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| ① Verify and register your work | Verify by email at korea.svaiff.com “Submit” (no password). Register the title (Korean and English), synopsis, credits and one poster (2–3 stills and one director photo are optional), and upload your video directly on the entry page as an MP4 file (H.264, 1080p recommended, up to 10 GB). If the upload is interrupted, you can resume it. |
| ② Answer the questions | Choose a category, answer the festival’s 12 questions, then enter your creative statement (about 2 pages) and 3 evidence scenes. The “AI Writing Helper” in the Appendix of the Entry Rules makes the English logline and AI-use description easy. |
| ③ Agree and submit | Agree to the Entry Rules, the global final entry obligation and the provision of personal information, then submit. When your work is finished, click “Confirm judging version.” |
Documents such as consent forms, proofs and screening copies are submitted in December only by those contacted as award candidates (Entry Rules Appendix “Award Candidate Confirmation Form”). However, entrants under 19 must submit the guardian consent form (Entry Rules Appendix 4) when entering.
Creative Statement and Evidence Scenes (required)
Enter the fields below on the entry page together with your video. Judges compare this statement with the actual video to evaluate the creative process (25 points). The length is about two A4 pages.
| Section | Field | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Page 1 Planning & structure | Logline | 100 characters |
| Theme | 200 characters | |
| Plot and ending (for non-narrative works, structure) | 500 characters | |
| Characters and world (for documentaries, rules of inquiry) | 300 characters | |
| Page 2 Artistry & revision | Artistic choices (key choice among color, light, composition, art direction, sound) | 300 characters |
| Roles of AI and people (tools, stages, your own judgment, collaboration) | 300 characters | |
| Research and references | 200 characters + sources | |
| Failure and revision (problem → alternatives → choice → result) | 300 characters | |
| Evidence scenes | 3 scenes (scenes showing how the intent was realized, an artistic choice and the result of a revision) | Start/end timecode for each + 100 characters |
| When written | Mark one: before / during / after production | Check one |
- Enter directly on the entry page: No separate file is needed; write in the fields on the entry page.
- Finished works are welcome: You may write in retrospect (mark “after production”); there is no deduction.
- Writing skill is not judged: Writing, design and foreign-language ability are not scored. We only check that it matches the actual video.
- Extra materials from candidates only: Scripts, storyboards and process materials may be requested separately from award candidates only.
Judging: Completed work 75 points: story and structure (genre purpose) 25 / direction and overall completeness 20 / artistic and visual expression 15 / execution of AI results 10 / editing, music and sound 5 + Creative process 25 points: rationale for intent and design 10 / understanding of research and references 5 / failure, revision and improvement 5 / own role and consistency 5. First-round screening runs from November 1, during the entry period, in the order in which judging versions are confirmed (details in Articles 4 and 5).
Please be sure to follow these
- Your own work only: Use only music, images, fonts and source works you have the rights to. Use only results made with an AI service plan that allows commercial use.
- No synthesis of real people: Using a real person’s face or voice, such as a celebrity or public figure, without permission means immediate disqualification with no chance to remedy (the same applies at the global final).
- Be truthful about AI use: Award candidates may be asked for production records (generated originals, screen recordings of work, etc.), so please keep them until the final.
- Label documentaries: Scenes recreated or synthesized with AI must be labeled on screen.
- Confirm judging version: When your work is finished, click “Confirm judging version” on the entry page. First-round screening runs from November 1 in the order of confirmation. If you replace the video after confirming, judging starts over; works not confirmed by the deadline are confirmed automatically as the version at the deadline.
- AI use label: In line with the purpose of Korea’s Framework Act on Artificial Intelligence, state the use of AI in the opening or ending titles (credits) of the work. If that is hard to do within the work, state it in the work information.
If You Win: Global Final Guide
SVAIFF KOREA 2026 is an independent competition hosted and run by E-Park AI Co., Ltd. The Silicon Valley global final is run independently by a separate partner organizer (Star Alliance Culture Inc.), which sets the final’s judging, schedule and conditions. The global final category into which each Korea winning work (including the Youth and University Creator Awards and Best AI Idol) is entered will be decided by the host’s jury to match the global award categories.
For the 19 prize winners, entering the global final is a condition of the award. You cannot accept the award and refuse to enter the final. The 31 Encouragement Award winners decide for themselves whether to enter the final. The main conditions of the final are as follows and may change depending on the final organizer’s circumstances.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Schedule | Global final January 10–11, 2027 · Silicon Valley, USA |
| Submission | The secretariat collects the winning works and submits them to the final. Because the final organizer accepts materials only via Google Drive links, award candidates simply upload their video, a trailer under 2 minutes, horizontal (16:9) and vertical (3:4) posters, a work introduction and credits to a Google Drive folder shared by the secretariat. |
| English subtitles | A version with English subtitles is required for works not in English |
| Evaluation fee | The final’s evaluation fee is US$99 per work. The host pays it on behalf of the 19 prize winners; Encouragement Award winners who wish to enter pay it themselves. |
| Online release | The final organizer uses winning works for online and offline promotion and releases them online (official and third-party platforms) for non-commercial purposes. The Audience Award is decided by this streaming vote. There is no time limit, and the names of the director and crew are always shown. If your work is under a distribution contract, let us know when entering. |
| Right of first collaboration | If you plan commercial development (adaptation, investment, production, distribution) of a final-winning work with a third party within 12 months, you must inform the final organizer of the terms, and the final organizer may collaborate first on the same terms (reply within 15 business days). This is not a transfer of copyright. |
| Verification | The global top 10 works may be asked to verify technical materials and key scenes. |
Attending the US ceremony is not mandatory. Among the winners of the top three awards by prize amount (Grand Prize, Best AI Idol, AI Narrative Film — Best), those who wish to attend the ceremony will receive a round-trip air ticket to the US (one economy seat; one person per team). The air ticket is conditional on attending the ceremony; it is not provided if you do not attend and is not replaced with cash. All other costs, such as accommodation, meals, local transport and visas, are at your own expense.
